Gemstones have been connected to astrology for many hundreds of years and
birthstones are now an acceptable way to choose jewellery for oneself or others. As well
as the very traditional associations with semi-precious gems like diamonds and rubies,
there are now connections with the more commonly available gemstones. This makes
obtaining birthstone jewellery much easier and more affordable.
It is believed that different gemstones have different properties and by having them in
contact with our skin or aura we can make use of these properties (or energies as they
are sometimes known). I have chosen the astral gemstones based on their traditional
