(dictator, fascist, military and political leader of Germany 1933 – 1945)

Biography
Adolf Hitler was born on 20 April 1889 in Braunau-am-Inn on the Austrian-German border.

He was the fourth child of six. Two of his siblings died from diphtheria when they were children and one died shortly after birth. He also had a half brother and half sister from one of his father's two previous marriages. His father was described as very strict and authoritarian. He regularly whipped the young Hitler. However, his mother showered him with love and affection. Following a family move they lived for six months across from a large Benedictine monastery and the monastery's coat of arms featured a swastika. As a youngster Hitler wanted to enter the priesthood and by 1900 his talents as an artist surfaced.

Hitler's father died in 1903 after suffering a pleural haemorrhage. Hitler also suffered from lung infections and he quit school at the age of 16 due to ill health and poor school work. In 1906 Hitler tried to gain admission to a prestigious art school but was unable. His mother developed terminal breast cancer and was treated by a Jewish doctor who served the poor. She died on December 21, 1907.

Hitler spent six years in Vienna and by 1909 he was penniless and wandered the streets as a transient. Vienna was a centre of anti-Semitism and it was during this period that he developed his prejudices about Jews and his interest in politics and debating.

When he left Vienna for Munich in 1913 the police came to his door bearing a draft notice from the Austrian government. The document threatened a year in prison and a fine if he was found guilty of leaving his native land with the intent of evading conscription. Hitler was arrested and on reporting to Salzburg for duty he was found unfit and unable to bear arms. However, at the outbreak of World War One he enlisted in the German army where he was wounded and decorated.

In 1919 he joined the fascist German Workers' Party. He promised extremist 'remedies' to Germany's post-war problems which he and many others blamed on Jews and Bolsheviks. By 1921 he was the unquestioned leader of the Nazi Party. In 1923 Hitler attempted an unsuccessful armed uprising in Munich and was imprisoned for nine months. During this time he dictated 'Mein Kampf' which outlined his political ideology. On his release he began to rebuild the Nazi Party and to get his message across he used new techniques of mass communication which was backed up with violence.

In the 1932 elections the Nazis became the largest party in the German parliament. This was mostly due to the economic depression and political turmoil at that time. The party grew stronger and in January 1933 Hitler became chancellor of a coalition government. He quickly took dictatorial powers and began to institute anti-Jewish laws. In 1933 Hitler staged the "burning of the books" in Berlin. Works by Jewish, Marxist and other "subversive" authors were publicly burned in huge bonfires.

Using his charismatic oratory and propaganda he was able to appeal to the economic need of the lower and middle classes. His call was for nationalism, anti-Semitism and anti-communism. With a re-armed military, totalitarian and fascist regime, Hitler pursued an aggressive foreign policy with the intention of expanding German living space. In September 1939 Hitler's invasion of Poland began World War Two. Hitler also annexed Austria and the Czech lands. He allied with Italy and later Japan.

Hitler had military successes in Denmark, Norway and Western Europe, but failed to subdue Britain so in 1941 he ordered the invasion of the Soviet Union. The Jewish populations of the countries conquered by the Nazis were rounded up and killed. Millions of others whom the Nazis considered racially inferior were also killed or worked to death.

In December 1941 Hitler declared war on America. The war on the eastern front drained Germany's resources and in June 1944 the British and Americans landed in France. In Berlin on 30 April 1945 with Soviet troops poised to take the German capital, Hitler committed suicide in his bunker by a single shot to the head whilst biting on a cyanide capsule, along with Eva Braun who he had married the day before.

During his life Hitler had an interest in the occult and was very concerned about what he ate due to his obsession that he would develop stomach cancer (because his mother had died of cancer). It is thought that he indulged in some unusual sexual practices and interestingly, all three women he had relationships with had attempted or committed suicide.

Astrology - With Hitler’s need for power and cruelty you would expect to see some obvious signs from Pluto, Saturn and Mars, even Uranus.

The Ascendant or rising sign (your appearance, how you are seen) is in Libra which indicates attractiveness (he was said to be very attractive to women) and looking like a diplomat with a desire to help resolve conflicts. Hitler did appear this way at the beginning of his political career and few people saw what a threat he could be, Winston Churchill was one of them.

The Sun (how you experience life, your essential energy) is in Taurus in the 7th house showing Hitler’s need for relationships and possessiveness once in them.

The Moon (your instinctive natural reaction, moods, habits) is in Capricorn showing his difficulty with empathy, a need for duty before pleasure and cold emotions. The Moon can also represent the mother and being conjunct Jupiter in the 3rd house suggests the exaggerated behaviour from his mother in his early life to compensate for the brutality of his father.

Mercury (your mind, intellect, communication, learning, criminal activities) in Aries gives Hitler his outspoken, direct and fiery speech. Mercury opposite Uranus creates erratic thought processes and an interest in the occult or activities outside of the law.

Venus (your relationships, harmony and sociability) in Taurus in the 7th house is conjunct Mars (your physical energy, initiative, action and how you get what you want) giving Hitler his interest in art, his powerful authoritative voice and his desire to create of harmony (in his eyes) using force and aggression.

Mars is in a hard aspect to Saturn (which is strongly placed) providing brutality, cruelty and violence.

Jupiter (your belief system, expansion and also representing the world of publishing) is in Capricorn showing Hitler’s desire to expand lands by invading other countries. Jupiter in the 3rd house gives his ability to communicate to the masses. Here is also his writing ability.

Saturn (your key to career and professional performance) is in Leo in the10th house indicating Hitler’s need to impose his will without empathy, gaining personal fulfilment later in life and showing him to be a disciplinarian with a power complex. Also, this positioning shows Saturn representing his strict father and the affect this had on his character.

Uranus (your desire for change, originality and unpredictable behaviour) is opposite Mercury and provides his unusual even shocking use of language/communication.

Neptune (the unseen and mysterious, collapse of boundaries, elusiveness and dreams) is conjunct Pluto in the 8th house, a sure sign of sex scandals, death of sexual partners and mystery surrounding his own death. Also, Pluto can represent areas underground and Neptune often indicates drugs, so death using cyanide in a bunker is not surprising.

Pluto (your hidden issues, compulsion and dark side) is in Gemini in the 8th house and shows sex with relatives (one of his relationships was with his niece who committed suicide).

Midheaven (your career, aspirations and public face) is in Leo giving Hitler ambition and his leaning towards public performance and politics.

The 7th house cusp in Aries indicates his younger wife, Eva Braun.
